About Silk Path
A Home Built Thread by Thread
Our story began with a simple conviction: that later life deserves the same dignity, rhythm, and joy as any other season.

How Silk Path Came to Be
Silk Path was founded in 2018 by a small group of people in Hong Kong who had experienced, through their own families, the difficulty of finding a residential home that felt truly welcoming rather than institutional. They wanted to create something different โ a place shaped by texture, routine, and genuine human presence.
The name draws on the metaphor of weaving: many threads, each individual, coming together to form something whole and sturdy. Every resident, every staff member, every visiting family is part of what makes Silk Path what it is.
Rooted in Kwun Tong, Kowloon, the home has quietly built a reputation in the local community for patience, attentiveness, and a way of doing things that centres the elder rather than the schedule.
Our Mission
To provide a residential home where elders feel genuinely at home โ with space for individuality, connection, and the small pleasures of daily life.
Our Vision
A Hong Kong where residential care for elders is shaped by warmth and belonging, not procedure alone.
Our Values
Patience. Attentiveness. Respect for each person's pace and preferences. These are the threads we weave into everything we do.
The People Here
Our Core Team
Silk Path is sustained by a small, dedicated team who share a belief that elder care is a calling, not just a profession.

With over fifteen years in elder residential care, Lai brings quiet leadership and a deep commitment to each resident's daily comfort. She joined Silk Path at its founding.

Standards We Hold
Our Approach to Quality

Resident Dignity
Every interaction at Silk Path is guided by respect. Residents are addressed by their preferred names, and their routines and preferences are honoured wherever possible.
Housekeeping Standards
Rooms and communal areas are cleaned daily by a dedicated team. Linen and laundry are managed on a regular schedule to ensure comfort and hygiene at all times.
Nutrition and Meals
Menus are prepared with local tastes in mind and reviewed seasonally. Dietary requirements and food preferences are recorded for each resident and communicated to the kitchen.
Privacy and Confidentiality
All personal information shared by residents and families is held in strict confidence. Details are shared only with staff who need them to provide appropriate care.
Staff Conduct
All staff undergo background checks and participate in ongoing training that includes communication skills, elder wellbeing awareness, and the principles that guide life at Silk Path.
Family Communication
Families are kept informed through regular updates and open communication. The Silk Path team is available during office hours to answer questions and discuss any concerns.
Our Expertise
Residential Elder Care in Kowloon
Silk Path has operated in Kwun Tong since 2018, developing deep knowledge of what makes residential care for elders feel genuinely supportive rather than burdensome. The focus has always been on the texture of daily life โ the quality of meals, the character of shared spaces, the attentiveness of staff, and the range of activities that give each day shape and meaning.
Hong Kong's elder community is diverse and deeply connected to local culture. At Silk Path, that understanding is built into how we work โ from the food we prepare to the stories shared in afternoon sessions. The home draws on Kowloon's community character, offering a setting that feels familiar and connected rather than isolated.
The residential option at Silk Path is designed for elders who are generally independent in their daily lives and who benefit from companionship, structure, and a comfortable private space. The craft workshop programme offers a meaningful social activity for elders who prefer to maintain their own home while still enjoying the social life of the Silk Path community. The two-week trial stay gives families and seniors a considered, unhurried way to explore whether Silk Path is the right fit.
