Common Questions
Things Families Often Ask
We understand there are many things to consider. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
Does Silk Path provide medical or nursing care?
Silk Path is a residential home, not a medical facility. We do not provide nursing care or medical treatment. We are best suited for elders who are generally independent in daily life and would benefit from companionship, structure, and a warm living environment. Families with medical needs may wish to explore care in parallel with our residence.
What does the monthly fee include?
The Woven Living Residence fee of HK$13,400 per month covers accommodation in a private room, three daily meals, housekeeping, laundry, and participation in weekly activities including craft workshops, storytelling afternoons, and garden walks. It also includes the presence of care companions at all hours.
Can we visit before making a decision?
Absolutely. We warmly encourage families and elders to visit Silk Path and see the home for themselves. You can meet the team, see the rooms, join a mealtime, and ask any questions you have. We also offer the Fortnight Familiarisation Stay, a two-week trial that gives elders a full experience of daily life here before any longer commitment.
What happens during the two-week trial stay?
The Fortnight Familiarisation Stay gives guests a private room, full access to meals, and participation in all activities. Staff pay close attention to each guest's comfort patterns, preferences, and how they settle into the daily rhythm. At the end of the two weeks, a written summary is shared with the family describing how the elder experienced the stay.
Are families welcome to visit residents?
Yes, family visits are welcomed and encouraged. Silk Path is in Kwun Tong, which is well-connected by MTR and bus, making it easy for families across Hong Kong to visit regularly. We find that familiar family connections are an important part of an elder's sense of wellbeing.
Is the craft workshop available to people not staying at Silk Path?
The Textile and Craft Workshop programme at HK$1,600 per month is offered as a standalone option for elders who do not reside at Silk Path. Sessions run twice weekly from 2 to 4:30 PM. All materials and refreshments are included, and no prior craft experience is needed.
